Wiricity hits back once more…
Wiricity, wireless electricity has been one of the pipedreams of the world; imagine being able to have all your electricals powered and charged without having annoying tangled cables lying around everywhere, it'd be great. A few years ago some MIT guys claimed to have come up with a working solution to it, and have made small demonstrations…then everything all went dead for a while. Apparently though, the WiTricity Corp plans to have it all available by next year, according to an interview with the BBC. Eric Giler talks of a device that snaps onto the back of a mobile phone battery wand will take in energy from any source, preventing the need to ever actively charge the device again.
Call me a skeptic but I'm not really sure whether this will surface within the next decade, let alone the next year…
