Wireless Solar Powered Web Cam
The power of the sun: now helping you spy on whoever you want, from pretty much anywhere. The SCIRC t1 is a 1.3 megapixel webcam with a solar-powered battery, a backup battery, date and time stamping and single shot and video modes that sends out data via the GPRS/EDGE cell phone standard, so you can view its output anywhere you have a connection - on your computer, on your phone, etc. Log into the camera remotely via the included control panel and you can set image quality, shot frequency and whether or not to protect photos from the prying eyes of the public. The whole unit is 7 inches tall and weighs 4.5 lbs, so you could conceivably hide them all over your property (or the property of someone else, if you're CrunchGear) and keep an eye on things without anyone else being the wiser. digitalXtractions, the maker of the SCIRC t1, has some nice shots of one of their cameras in action in front of a house - the image isn't super sharp, but it's possible to make out details of fenced-in patio area at what looks like about 300 feet away from where the camera is mounted. Pretty cool.
