Microsoft is starting the push to get people to upgrade their systems in preparation for the who knows when launch of their new OS. The Windows Vista site now has an application that you can download that will test your system out and tell you if you can run the new Vista OS and what features your current system will and won't support. The short list of specs your system needs to be Vista Premium ready is:
- 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor.
- 1 GB of system memory.
- A graphics processor that runs Windows Aero2.
- 128 MB of graphics memory.
- 40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB free space.
- DVD-ROM Drive3.
- Audio output capability.
- Internet access capability.
