Wi-Fi Speakers Could Turn Cellphones into Home Theaters

Wi-Fi makes for some great connectivity options and San Francisco's Blackfire Research is about to release Wi-Fi speakers that should take the concept to the next level.
The Blackfire SmartSpeaker should hit shelves this summer and will allow users the ability to stream audio directly from Wi-Fi-enabled cellphones and computers.
By the time of launch, software for all of the popular smartphones (including the iPhone, Blackberry, Zune, Palm, and Android) should be completed.
The concept, if successful, could obsolete our very notion of the home stereo. Rather than bulky hardware connected to speakers via unsightly wires, the SmartSpeaker would allow users to simply activate their handset's Internet radio streaming and the speakers would allow anyone in the room to listen in.
