Why I Love Miniturization
Bigger iPods, here we come: Seagate recently announced their newest crop of hard drives, including a 60 gig drive the size of a credit card and 1.8 inches in height. While 60 gigs isn't any larger than the current portable hard drives, the fact that Seagate is starting to implement Perpendicular Recording Technology in drives made for mobile devices means that the storage capacity of these drives is just going to go up by leaps and bounds as the manufacturing process improves. The day when your palmtop or portable music device has as much space as your desktop or palmtop may not be that far off...
