Speaking for someone who has a few computers and has had substantial data loss on everyone, 4TB (yes Terabytes) of data storage does not sound like overkill. I could run Time Machine for years on that sucker, and never lose anything. At the end of last semester, there was massive water damage in our house, and I lost 3 computers worth of important data. The only thing that saved us was a successful backup on a Western Digital My Book (we grabbed it on the run). Since then, I have been a backup freak!
Western Digital My Book Studio Edition II has been upgraded to a staggering 4TB of storage space. Inside, the Studio Edition II makes use of dual-drive RAID 0 configuration and offers several high-speed interfaces. You can choose from eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 - regardless of the system, those connections have you covered. The My Book Studio Edition II is also eco friendly - especially considering its hefty size. It fully utilizes WD GreenPower technology which minimizes both sound and energy consumption. If you are into good, large, and clean storage, this is the drive for you.
It is also suprisingly cheap. The Western Digital My Book Studio II will only run $649 when it is available later this summer. When you think about it, that is a small amount for piece of mind and data security without having to invest in high-end antivirus software. With 4TB, you would never need to buy a new drive - this sucker is quite the investment.
