The Wallet Pix is the technical alternative that stores 58 individual shots, and is as portable as a credit card. Not only that, but it has auto-shutoff and auto-resizing, and can work well with newer Windows machines.
Sounds perfect for grandma. Too bad she probably won't be able to figure out how to work the thing.

I just received two of the little Wallet Pix devices and realize that you get what you pay for. The image quality is very poor, with bars at the top and bottom of the images. This reduces the overall size of the image greatly, making it difficult to recognize who's in the picture. I can put images on my cell phone free, with much greater clarity. Best is my iPod, but of course everybody doesn't have that device. I may send them back, but then will lose $14 in shipping, plus the cost the send them back. Maybe I'll give them to my grandkids..........
