Just Plain Weird
by Shane McGlaun on July 14, 2006

This is one of the funniest gadgets I have seen. The device is called the Vroombox and it's basically a audio system for outside your car that makes it sound like something cooler. Drive a 1976 Ford Pinto, but want your ride to sound like a V12 Lamborghini? You can do it. Have a Honda Civic you want to sound like at Shelby cobra? You can do that too.
The speakers are attached under your vehicle and the sound is tied to your throttle allowing the recorded sounds to match the vehicle you drive exactly. The car sounds even include effects such as screeching tires and blow-off valves. The Vroombox site says you can even download more effects from the web. All this vehicular Tom Foolery can be yours for a mere $159.
