Vonage Introduces USB Phone
Imagine this: you're travelling somewhere and you need to make a long distance phone call, maybe even to an international number. You could use your cell phone, but it'll cost you minutes or you're not getting reception. You do, however, have a PC with a broadband connection available and this handy device that Vonage introduced on Wednesday. Call a V-Phone, it's a USB device with pre-loaded Vonage software, phone number, earpiece microphone and 256 MB of storage capacity which allows you to make phone calls via Vonage through any broadband-connected computer. While the idea isn't new (other companies have similar devices), the prevelance of Vonage's brand definitely means greater exposure to the concept.
