VMWare Goes Portable
Filed in archive Storage Stuff by Eric Hanson on March 6, 2007

; we'd have a machine running Windows XP and use VMWare to run Windows NT, 98 and 2000 on it so we could do more tests without buying more computers. It was pretty cool.Today I see that VMWare is taking their virtual computer thing a step further: they're putting it on the road. You can now install the newest version of their ACE Enterprise Desktop Management software onto a USB drive via a solution called Pocket ACE. The idea is that you'll be able to go to other offices or work locations and run a secure desktop, courtesy of ACE, without having to tote along a laptop. It seems like a pretty cool concept to me.
