Vinyl Making A Comeback?

While I remember listening to my parent's album's when I was a kid, I never actually owned my own vinyl. It's a shame, really, because some of those albums-and yes, to this day, I still call them that-were the bomb. Even if I didn't like the music, the album covers were awesome. Led Zeppelin Houses Of The Holy is an example of a cover I spent hours studying.
Oh sure, I can get them on CD, but there's just something wonderful about an album that you just don't get with a CD. And it's not just the sound quality, either. That larger-than-life album art, the lyrics printed inside, the smell of vinyl. And the physical act of putting it on to play.
Wired has a commentary piece talking about the resurgence of vinyl. The pressing plants apparently can't keep up with the demand, and it's not just DJs. Real people are starting to demand the vinyl experience for their music. Record players-even USB-enabled ones for ripping-are flying off the shelves.
MP3s can take the place of CDs, or so the theory goes. MP3s are "portable" versions of the music, vinyl is for when you're home. In fact, some labels are selling MP3s with your vinyl purchase. Righteous. Anything to bring back the proper music experience is a good thing.
