But this is not so! ThinkGeek is offering the Ion USB Turntable, a way to burn your old records onto something digital. All you need to do is plug it into your PC, and the included Audacity software helps you put that vinyl into MP3 format.
Of course, I don't know how it will sound. After all, CDs replaced LPs for a reason. However, if you want to try it out, be prepared to lay down $99.

There are still hundreds of vinyl records around. People pick up their favorites from boot sales and jumble sales and then tend to buy one of these usb turntables to transfer them onto their PC. There are many options available now - by manu manufacturers.
