Use Your Nokia N95 As A Lightsaber!

Filed in archive General Cool Stuff by Dameon Welch-Abemathy on November 11, 2007

You may not know it, but the Nokia N95 has an accelerometer built into it. The only built-in application that currently uses this is the camera. However, Nokia recently released a C++ library that allows third-party developers to make applications that use the accelerometer.

One of the more silly examples of these applications is a lightsaberlinks program. All it does is show X, Y, and Z coordinates on the screen while you move the phone around. Oh yeah, and it makes light saber sounds. Had fun "attacking" my son with this.

For a demonstration, watch the video below:

If you've got an N95, and want to try this out for yourself, head on over to Symbian-Guru and grab your copy today!
