It wouldn't make sense for Apple to upgrade all the iPod models and leave the U2 iPod with nothing new, so after the big and important releases comes an updated version of the small yet great special edition iPod dedicated to the band.
It got a price cut down and it currently costs $279, since the normal iPod "video" versions with (almost) the same exact specs are priced at $249, this means that the following points are valued at $30:
- the special design (black with red click wheel)
- autographs of the U2 members on the back side
- iTunes coupon for 30 minutes of U2 videos and interviews
- a different iPod name
This list has the reasons of the price difference between normal iPods and U2 iPods. Is it worth it? That is up to you to decide.
PS - The feature updates are similar to the other iPods, more battery time, better display, etc...
