They're portable, they CONNECT via USB, they come with a sub-woofer. They even look like they might fold up nicely, to be actually portable in a practical sense. And at only 280 grams, they're not going to give your laptop bag carrying arm too much of an additional workout.

This is a surprisingly good sounding USB travel speaker featured at http://www.usb-computer-speakers.com/ – Reviews of this 2.1 stereo speaker unit are highly favorable, and I agree. With a 2″ ‘subwoofer’ it sounds great. it’s well-designed, the single USB cable delivers both power and audio and tucks neatly into the base. I’m glad I bought one.
