Transfer Files Between Devices Without a Computer

This is a pretty cool idea, although only practical if you find yourself needing to transfer files between your various entertainment devices with a computer handy. It's called Hitch and it's coming soon from Sima Products, a company that's produced products for everything from home theater to home safety. The idea is simple: Hitch is a USB 2.0-enabled device running an upgradable (and tweakable, after Sima releases a developer's kit) Linux operating system on a flash memory drive. It has a visual interface that allows you to transfer files between any two devices that you hook up to it: music files from a USB key to an iPod, photos from a digital camera to a PSP, files from a USB card reader to a portable hard drive. It also acts as a charger (it can fully charge two iPods before it needs to be plugged in) and is fully compatible with all versions of DRM currently available.
iLounge put the Hitch through its paces and liked what they saw; the only limitation anyone has found so far is that Mac users will need to reformat their iPods to the FAT32 file system to be able to use Hitch.
