Toshiba External USB 2.0 HD DVD Drive Continues Hi-Def DVD Fight
Yet another indication the Hi-Def format wars aren't over, despite what Neilsen might say: Toshiba just put out an external HD DVD drive that connects to your computer via USB 2.0, writes CDs at up to 16x and DVDs at up to 4x. The drive isn't cheap: $370 for the privilege of not knowing if your drive will be completely obsolete in a few months if the HD DVD partisans give way to Blu-Ray. However, if you've gotta have it now and you gotta have it in HD DVD, you now have an option from Toshiba.
