Toshiba Camileo S10 Makes Camera World Flip

Flip cameras are all the rage around here. But to be honest, the technology behind them has left a lot to be desired; they simply are too expensive for the quality and convenience they offer. Toshiba is offering the Camileo S10 to the Flip-loving crowd, but they have fixed many of the nagging issues, and they due it for cheaper. Granted, Camileo doesn't roll of the tongue like "Flip" does, but the Toshiba S10 might just be a Flip Killer.
For starters, the Camileo S10 records in full HD, as in 1080p. The mini recorder can also snap still frames at 5 mega-pixels. The Toshiba device sports an 18mm thickness, brushed metal case, and an all-around rugged feel. The Flip camera, when I have played with i, feel like a toy. The Toshiba unit actually makes you think you have a piece of technology in your hand; that is a good thing. To round out the package, you get 128 MB of internal storage, SDexpansion (up to 32GB), and a 2.5 inch LCD panel.
The price for all of this HD goodness? It is under $200 bucks; currently available in the UK, it only costs $181 USD. For a full HD camcorder with HDMI output directly to your TV, I would expect to pay at least $249. I am not sure if the world will flip over Camileo, but I am sure that Flip technologies is flipping out. This will offer serious competition to other top range phones like the Samsung Omnia
