Yesterday TIME.com writer Wilson Rothman bestowed the Gadget of the Week award on the new Nintendo DS Lite, noting that, "the gaming pioneer brings sudoku and other joys to non-gamers." As Joystiq points out, Rothman talks less about the abilities of the DS Lite than he does about Nintendo's new Touch Generations games, which are aimed at middle aged buyers who wouldn't really consider themselves gamers, but what do they expect? TIME isn't exactly a publication for reveling in cutting edge gaming technologies – Rothman compared the look of the DS Lite to the new Apple MacBook and we know how focused on gaming Apple is – and his focus on the benefits for the old fogies is, I'm sure, completely in line with TIME's readership.
