The Walls Are Glowing!
If you've ever done anything in a kitchen beyond make a sandwich or pour a bowl of cereal, you've probably noticed that kitchens are a lot easier to work in when there are lights that are somewhere below ceiling level. Hanging below cabinets, for example, seems to work pretty well, but the point is that having a light source that won't be blocked by your head when you're standing working on your latest culinary masterpiece or washing some dishes is a pretty good thing to have.

Well, what if instead of having to look at bulky and ugly fluorescent lights, you could just turn on your walls? That's basically the idea behind Panels, a product from CeeLite. The Panels, which currently range in size from a cell phone screen to 3' x 6', are flat panels made up of Light Emitting Capacitors (LECs). CeeLite has discovered how to manipulated LECs into flat shapes of various sizes, giving out consistently bright light in color brightness ranging from 7,500 to 11,000 degrees Kelvin. The Panels also have controls to change the brightness level of the panel as desired. They don't seem to be available via retail, but finagle a wholesaler's tax ID out of someone and you can do your entire kitchen or living room to be a solid room of light.
