The "Taken by iPhone" Photo Frenzy
We may be about a month away from the release date of the eagerly anticipated iPhone, but that's not stopping enthusiasts (aka lunatics with too much time on their hands) from trying to track down photos that may or may have been taken by the iPhone's 2.0 megapixel camera. First we have the post from Mobile Guerrilla, where the author mentions the Flickr page where the photos first appeared and copies in the EXIF data taken from the photos that identify them as having been taken by the iPhone. Then we have the AppleiPhoneReview, which uses a complex involvement the location of a butcher shop and the presence of a well-known food blogger as supplemental proof that the iPhone really did take these two photos.

Hold on a sec, guys. Even if these photos are real (and I'm willing to bet anyone can hack EXIF data if they know what they're doing), who cares? The one taken outside looks good, the one taken inside does not, because it's a two megapixel camera. A two megapixel camera will not take earth-shatteringly awesome pictures all the time, even if made by Apple and blessed by the hand of Steve Jobs himself.
