Telecom TV and Remote All-in-one
I'm not certain why this isn't being implemented in America, but Korean company Telecom is releasing several phones in its Ann series that double as television remotes.
Personally, I don't why we don't have this technology already. After all, I'm sick of always looking for my remote, but my cell phone generally does not end up between couch cushions. Supposedly, the IR frequencies on most cel phones have a narrow beam and aren't compatible with most TV remotes, but more phones need to adapt. I mean, if phones can have Bluetooth, cameras, e-mail, surely a remote is not difficult!
Anyway, I'm not sure of the availability or price of this product. However, it does have SMS.
