  • Robot probe fails to land on asteroidlinks - A small robotic probe released by a Japanese space probe Saturday toward an asteroid orbiting the sun between Earth and Mars failed to land and drifted away from the asteroid, Japan's space agency said Sunday.
    Photos taken by a camera on the probe, dubbed Hayabusa, showed the robotic probe, called Minerva, drifting away into space, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency said.It is unlikely that the asteroid's gravitational field will pull Minerva back toward it, the agency said. From Japan Today
