Take My Computer, Please!

Apple announced an expansion of its computer recycling program last week and is offering free take-back and recycling with the purchase of a new Mac system via apple storelinks or Apple Retail stores. The Sierra club has named Apple a "Froward Green Leader" becoming one of the top ten environmentally progressive companies in the country.

"Apple is committed to supporting our customers and protecting the environment throughout the entire product life cycle, from purchase through to retirement," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing in the press release. "Now we are making it even easier for Apple's customers to safely and affordably recycle their used computers and iPods."

Cool sounding program, but I wonder what they do with the 10% of the systems they take back and don't recycle? I bet the guys that work in the returns department have some cool gear. ;)
