Swatch Bicycle-Tube Design Watch
Perhaps I'm revealing my age when I say that I remember the Swatch fad of the early eighties. Yes, these plastic pastel watches with their artsy faces and glorified rubberband "Swatchguards" swept the nation with their loud ads on MTV.
Swatch has apparently not lost its avant-garde fashion sense with a new design that resembles a bicycle tube. Minimalism has always been Swatch's selling point, but I'm wondering if that digital LCD effect is as complicated as it looks. From the picture, it looks like that "10:28" is actually on the curved part of the tube itself. But hey, I'm sure we've got technology that can do that by now.
I have no idea when these will be out, nor what the price would be. However, if I know Swatch, then they'll come in lots of varieties (with eighties-style pastel colors, maybe).
