Tech News Around The World
by Shane McGlaun on July 27, 2006

In an attempt to Foil film Pirates, a team of engineers at Georgia Tech has devised a digital camera neutralizer for use in movie theaters, museums, and government buildings. The device works by shining a thin beam of white light into the camera's lens. Supposedly the light does not affect human eyes, nor does it affect digital SLR's or analog cameras. However, if the system is produced commercially we can expect to be widely adopted by cinemas especially. Word on the streets is that the RIAA version shoots a retina burning red laser out of the radio should you try to record over the air songs to an MP3.
