Apple's recently released streamlined iMac's combine great looks with powerful computing. Never content to rest on their laurels, Sony have released what looks to be a direct competitor, however, in the form of the Viao LT HD PC/TV entertainment center (okay, they could do to learn a thing or two about catchy titles from Apple).

But the Viao, which will set you back a cool $2900, manages to squeeze some very special features into its streamlined form. Gizmodo broke the news:
What's cool is that you can switch on and use the TV without having to boot up the PC part of the media center, giving you the versatility to roll two of your major household appliances into one sleek form factor. That's great news for anyone limited on space, as we tend to be over here in Japan!

"This Sony LT HD PC/TV makes its mark as a mini home theater with its Blu-ray drive on board as well as a CableCARD slot. But that Blu-ray drive not only plays back HD movies on the PC's 22-inch widescreen, but can also record 50 gigs of sweet HD on a single disk. It has a lot more that'll turn it into a space-saving entertainment center, too."
