Sony Ericsson MS500 Bluetooth Speaker Brings The Noise (Outside)

All of the cool kids cell phones have bluetooth A2DP support, heck, even the iPhone will be getting it in a few months. If you are looking to capitalize on all of that Bluetooth goodness of your phone or media player, then Sony Ericsson has the speaker for you. Dubbed the MS500, this little speaker provides bluetooth wireless access to your music in a ruggedized package.
Due out later this summer, the Sony Ericsson MS500 will provide Bluetooth connectivity in a water-resistant package. The sports clip and round shape look perfect for clipping to a backpack or bag so that you can hear your music while your phone is tucked safely away. What I like about it is that no one will see your wires or be able to guess at what kind of phone you are jamming to, so they won't be tempted to steal it - out of sight, out of mind. The MS500 will have a range of 32 feet, and it has its own play/volume control buttons so that you can control the device from a distance. On a pair of AA batteries, you should be able to have your music handy for about five hours.
Sony Ericsson has not released an official date or price yet, but a small, rugged speaker like this should probably be around $79 or so. Sony Ericsson could shock me in either direction on the price, but I doubt it will be much more than that. For music in the park or on a hike, the MS500 seems like it will be a perfect companion.
