Sony CEO Thinks PS3 not Too High

The Seattle Times has a Q&A with Sony Computer Entertainment America CEO Kazuo Hirai about the upcoming PS3. In the conversation they talk about the launch date, November 17th of this year and the price. There will be two PS3 versions one with a 60GB hard drive at $599 and one without the hard drive for $499. Naturally Hirai says the PS3 is worth the cost, but what else is he going to say? No, it's not worth $599 go buy an Xbox 360? Not unless he wants to commit Hara Kiri. So just in time for Christmas we shall again have console wars. Most likely there will be shortages leading many to not be able to get the PS3, and to exorbitant eBay sales prices as well. This will likely be compounded by the fact that the PS3 will launch in what Hirai calls all three major markets at the same time. I'll stick to my PC game system thank you very much. We PC gamers sit back and chuckle when console gamers flop
about in shock at the price of a game console. I spent more than the PS3 on my graphics cards alone.
