Sony Announces World's Thinnest Display
According to the Miami Herald, Sony has released a video of a 2.5 inch display so thin it can be rolled up like a tube of paper while still displaying full color video. The video screen, which has a thickness of 0.3 mm, is far more pliable than any current display technology thanks to its use of organic thin film transistors and an organic electroluminescent display and much better at displaying video than electronic paper technologies under development by LG. Philips LCD and Seiko Epson. Sony thinks it could be used for everything from lamp post displays to wallpaper to clothing.

The usage possibilities of this technology are what fascinate me. Sure, a TV that was actually part of your wall is a cool idea - not to mention easy to hang - but clothing? Give the screen the ability to capture and display images and you could change your look at a moment's whim, or even create some predatorlinks-style invisibility. Very, very cool.
