Sony: Advertising Like No Other

Imagine you're Sony (or one of Sony's marketing people, because it's hard to be a corporation). You're launching a new Bravia TV and you need to find some way to promote it and the vibrant colors it generates, but you have a problem: it's very hard to demonstrate image quality for your television on the thousands of other, inferior televisions that will be showing the ad to your potential customers. What to do? Why not go for broke?
Broke, in this case, is getting 600 people together to shoot 70,000 liters of paint out of paint bombs and mortars around a group of apartment buildings in Scotland, then synchronizing the whole thing to music (think Music for Royal Fireworks displays) for a 30-second ad. The result is marvelous and well worth checking out. There's are two nice clips on the making of the ad, too: part 1, part 2.
