General Cool Stuff
by Chris Matier on August 10, 2009

The measuring cup, going into production by kitchen gadget company Talylor, has a backlit LCD screen on the handle. The display lets you know just how much fluid you have, and can even be programmed for specific recipes. The device also has an alarm that will sound when you have filled it to the desired amount. I can see a device like this working for two reasons: it would make cooking cool, and it would make measuring dummy-proof. In other words, it might encourage me to cook. Of course it will be dishwasher safe, and it should be relatively rugged to stand up to kitchen abuse.
The Taylor Smart Measuring cup should be available before the end of the year. Hopefully, it will be the perfect Christmas present for the geeky cook in your life.
