From the beer country - Germany - comes a very useful device if you're a big drinker in the pubs, or just don't like to wait for your order. Thanks to Andreas Butz from the University of Munich, and Michael Schmitz from Saarland University for making this available.
The beer mat has a pressure sensor: to check when the beer is almost finished; and a radio transmitter: to notice the staff to bring another drink.
It costs 100$, and weighs 110 grams but the German creators say this could be improved, if there was a mass-production campaign.
I recommend this to some big (and small) pubs, that always have a full-house but can't handle all the requests. If you want to test it, I'm available...
