Mobile Phones
by Dameon Welch-Abemathy on February 9, 2008

When I was trying to find a picture to go with a piece I wrote on AT&T suing a place over unlocking their prepaid phones and reselling them, I ran across a site that might be useful for those people who have old cell phones sitting in a drawer, wondering what to do with them.
Junkyard Wireless will give you cold hard cash for your old phone-assuming it works, of course. The phone will either be resold in a different market or, if the phone is not up to Snuff. will be broken down and recycled.
Getting an old phone in the hands of someone who needs it-now that's a kind of recycling I can get behind. Hopefully, the purchaser of that phone will do the right thing and recycle it when the time comes.

@dwight Not everyone files the type of return that permits taking deductions. While it's nice to have the charitable option also, for some, cold hard cash is better.
