Seitz Roundshot D3 Panorama Camera

The Swiss company named Seitz has announced a really high tech camera that will be a bit difficult for mortals like us to afford, the price tag of the Seitz Roundshot 3D is on the $30k level, more exactly $37,800 for the mobile version and $35,250 for a studio model. What makes this super camera so special is being able to shoot a 360º digital image in only two seconds (with a 80mm lens) bringing the number of pixels to 470 million. Almost all the credit of this accomplishment goes to the Seitz D3 digital scan back sensor that has high speed and resolution values: 300MB of data per second.

To work with the Roundshot D3 camera there is a touch screen display that can either be attached on the camera or work wireless, since it has a resolution of 640x480 pixels, it is the biggest camera screen on the world - with such a big camera I wouldn't expect other way. By now you must be wondering how much space one image represents, here is the answer:

A 360° digital panorama at 48-bit uncompressed taken with a 80mm lens represents about 2.7 GB
