Storage Stuff
by Shane McGlaun on April 23, 2006

Seagate has some info on their site about their newest barracuda drive that has a whale sized storage capacity of 750GB. That's right 750GB in one hard drive. Interface options are available for SATA 3Gb/s, SATA 1.5Gb/s and ATA/100. How did they cram all that storage space into one drive? Seagate uses perpendicular recording technology to greatly increase the data density on the drive platters and decreasing the number of moving parts inside the drive at the same time. also included is a five year warranty, SoftSonic motor for quiet operation, enhanced G-Force protection and more. Read the full specs at the Seagate website.
