Sanyo Xacti E1 Waterproof Camcorder
Filed in archive Cameras by Mark Rollins on May 22, 2007

seems to want to tell that world that the Xacti E1 is the world's first waterproof camcorder. I find that hard to believe, but couldn't think of another model that was waterproof. Of course, waterproof may not be an adequate description. As it is, it can only take 5 feet for an hour at a time, but that might be good for pool-time portraits. As for the film type, it shoots H.264 MPEG-4 video to an SD or SDHC memory card, then compresses it for 10 hours of video.
I'm not certain how long the Sanyo Xacti E1 can last on a charge, or even if you can charge it, but it costs about $500.
