Sanyo Internet Radio Can Beat Up Your FM Radio

With streaming Radio On mobile phones, built in MP3 support in cars, and the XM Sirius Monster, and just about everyone owning a portable music player of some sort, I am surprised that FM radio is still alive and kicking at all. I know I never listen to it at all. This new Sanyo R227 internet radio is another nail in the ol' FM's coffin.
The Sanyo R227 is a WiFi equipped internet appliance is capable of receiving both internet radio stations and online Podcasts. You can enter a network key which makes the radio able to work on a secure WiFi network. It is also capable of searching by country, genre, and it will store up to eight radio station presets. For those who still need an FM radio for news or traffic, the unit does have a built in FM tuner.
The Sanyo R227 will hit North America by the end of October and will run about $219. That will be your only cost because, unlike satellite radio, there are no subscription fees to worry about.
