Sanyo eneloop
I recently heard about this new battery, and was surprised that I didn't hear more about it. Sanyolinks's new eneloop is designed to have all the pluses of a disposable and rechargeable battery combined.

How is this possible? Well, you know how you can't use a rechargeable battery right away? With eneloop, you can. It all has to do with its low self-discharge rate, that will insure more power when it is needed. Sanyo is also hyping up the eneloop's environmental potential, since one eneloop will replace 1000 disposable batteries.

So far, they are only available in AA or AAA, but rest assured, it won't be long before these guys will be in your car.
