Storage Stuff
by Chris Matier on December 5, 2008

I have a flash drive that I carry some pretty important information on, and I know if I ever lost it, I would be screwed. Things would be especially bad if some bad-guy were to get their grubby hands on it. I try to encrypt my data, but 90% of the computers I interact with are Macs, and solid encryption has been difficult on flash drives for OS X. SandDisk has improved that situation greatly with the release of the new SanDisk Cruzer Enterprise.
The SanDisk Cruzer Enterprise will feature hardware, 256-bit encryption for both a OS X and Windows environment. Users will be able to login and manage encryption, set passwords, manage the encrypted storage area, and set contact information. The flash drives will be available in 1, 2, 4, and 8GB sizes.
The Sandisk Cruzer Enterprise will run $60 - $300 depending on size, and will require OS X 10.4, 10.5, or Windows XP or later. The encrypted flash drives will be available at the beginning of next year.
