Storage Stuff
by tiago on March 15, 2007

SanDisk and their love to everything related to storage stuff have made another product available for the general public, the 32GB SSD in a 2.5-inch format.
This small sized storage device can boot up Vista Enterprise in 30 seconds, and even better, it only takes 0.11 milliseconds (in average) to access files. When compared to a normal notebook using a normal hard disk, the Vista booting numbers are better for the SanDisk product.
The SanDisk SSDs offer a sustained read rate of 67 megabytes (MB) per second3 and a random read rate of 7,000 inputs/outputs per second (IOPS) for a 512-byte transfer.
It costs $350 and there is more information available on the SanDisk website.
