Samsung SSD is Serious Business for Gamers

I have to SSD drives. I own an 80GB Intel X-25 SSD and a 128GB Kingston V-Series SSDNow. Both are fast, but the Intel drive screams when it comes to gaming and video streaming. I can only imagine the serious gaming speed that a new series of Samsung FlashSSD drives are going to offer. The 256GB capacity won't hurt a bit either.
The Samsung FlashSSD drive is boasting some serious speed limits. They have published read speeds of 220MB/s and write speeds up to 200MB/s. That literally toasts my Intel X-25 drive. For day=to-day operations, and for normal computing, I can honestly say that the Samsung drive would be wasted, but if you video edit, stream large amounts of data, or are a gamer, the Samsung drive is a necessity. If the Samsung FlashSSD drive were paired with the right processor and video card, gaming would be instantaneous and intense. In addition to breaking speed limits, the drive also offers 1,000,000 hours MTBF (mean time before failure), and low power consumption.
Pricing has not been announced, but it won't be cheap. A 256GB SSD normally runs over $600, and while prices are dropping quickly, this drive is too hot to be cheap. None the less, if you are investing in a high-end gaming rig, the Samsung FlashSSD might be the only choice for you.
