Samsung Releases A DVD Burner for Your Netbook Because it Doesn

Have you tried working on a netbook? I am talking about one of the 10 inch or smaller units that are all the rage right now. Personally, I find them too small and too limited in what they cannot do. Other than the size, a major drawback is their lack of media support. For both installing software or watching media, a DVD player is essential; if you have a burner you can also back up the little guy. samsung knows that, and that is why they are releasing the SE-S084B external DVD Burner for all of your netbook media needs.

The SE-S084B is a small, lightweight, and portable DVD burner that are being released in a range of colors including black, white, red and blue to match your micro-computer. The burner itself supports both 8cm and 12cm media, and is capable of burning DVD's at 8x and CD-R disks at 24x. The SE-S084B also has 2MB of buffer memory for overflow protection and a tricky self balancing tray to support and protect your media from any nasty bumps or shifts. The device connects to your netbook via a high-speed USB 2.0 connection.

The Samsung SE-S084B DVD Burner should set you back about $80. They should be hitting the streets later this quarter. I am not sure if the addition of a cheap and reliable DVD burner is enough to sway me to the netbook camp, but it is a start.
