Robotpet - Man's Best Friend?
Filed in archive General Cool Stuff by tiago on September 8, 2005

Looking at all the other Robot Pets made before, you probably think this one is just another common product of that kind, but no... When Mark Tilden (former NASA scientist) created Robotpet, he reached a new level in terms of robots and pets.

This one comes with a remote controller that gives the owner the capability to make the robot learn new tricks, moves and much more. You can even take him out for a walk, using the laser light incorporated in the RC and creating a path for him to follow.

And what are some the advantages of having a pet like this? For one, you won't have to catch his "presents" anymore. You want your house to be safe but can't have a normal dog? Robotpet can work as a guard dog also, because he responds to human movement and sounds.

To see the disadvantages is easy, just look at the picture of the robot and look back at your dog.

Can this robot substitute your real dog? I know it can't replace mine, but for someone who is allergic to dogs, this might do the trick.

The price is around $110, you can order and read more information at FireBox.
