RIM & Motorola in the Legal Hot Seat
It seems like no matter what innovations come down the pipe these days, there’s someone else claiming to have invented it first. Such is the case with handset giants RIM and Motorola who find themselves on the receiving end of legal action over visual voicemail.
Making the allegations of patent infringement is Klausner Technologies, who states that both RIM and Motorola have now crossed into lawsuit territory with the Blackberry Bold 9700 and Motorola CLIQ.
Court battles are lengthy and costly and Klausner is all too aware of this truth. Based on the firm’s past track record with patent infringement allegations against Apple, Verizon, LG, and Google, it’s a safe bet their looking for but another out-of-court settlement payoff.
