RIM Announces the Curve

Earlier today Research in Motion (RIM) announced they have a consumer-aimed follow-up to the Pearl, RIM's first consumer phone. As far as smartphones go, the Curve doesn't seem to have anything special going for it besides some nice looks and a big screen, but there are a couple of interesting surprises inside: the roxio Media Manager for Blackberry, which allows for some sophisticated media organization; and quad-band capabilities, allowing it to work over GSM, GPRS and EDGE networks. For the layman, that means cell access in the US and 125 other countries, which is pretty cool. When the Curve comes out, it'll be an AT&T device.

The best feature is the quad-band. This makes it the first true world Blackberry phone.
