Riding With Tunes is a Little Less Deadly Thanks to i-Ride

Whenever I am on my bike listening to my iPod, I am always thinking "what if iDie because of some iDiots"? Face it, people don't pay attention to bicycles, and riding with headphones on is even worse. That is the inspiration for this handy gadget: The i-Ride.

The i-Ride bicycle speaker system by Active Tunes allows a cyclist to listen to an iPod or other MP3 player while ditching the headphones so that he/she can focus on the road. These mini speakers are designed to mount to the Handlebars of a bike, and connect to any music player via the line-in cable. The speakers run on 3 AAA batteries or can be powered via USB if you connect them to your laptop.

For $29.99 you get a set of amplified mini-speakers, mounting bracket, carrying pouch, and line-in cable. Don't forget the price also includes the ability to pay attention to the crazies on the road that would rather drive through a cyclist rather than around one.
