More news from Creative Weblogging:

The RFID Weblog (www.rfid-weblog.com), a property of the Creative Weblogging network of blogs, has released the results of a recent survey showing surprising results about interest in RFID.

The top four areas of reader interest from the study are:

  • (1) case studies

  • (2) tags and readers

  • (3) RFID in the supply chain

  • (4) RFID middlewarelinks and software

"This survey confirms that businesses are seriously looking at RFID technology and want to learn more about how to use it," says Torsten Jacobi, CEO of Creative Weblogging. "There is a real thirst for knowledge about how to use this technology in the business context. That is why we started the RFID Weblog in early 2004 -- to provide useful information about how to deploy RFID in industry."

Says Anita Campbell, Editor of the RFID Weblog:

"Interestingly, the topic of RFID privacy ranked fairly low on the list of interests, with only 7% of readers reporting they want to read about privacy. Yet, that is the topic that much of the mainstream press writes about. The vast majority of our readers are business executives and managers. While they want to be aware of and understand the privacy issues, clearly they are much more interested in articles about how to use RFID effectively. In that sense, I think some of the media are missing out on an important opportunity to discuss the technical and business implications of RFID technology."
