Repent, the iPhone Flood is Coming

I like my iPhone despite certain flaws that have yet to be addressed including the missing copy and paste and the lack of A2DP Bluetooth support. When I got my original iPhone, I have to admit, I felt a bit "special." There simply weren't that many people who had one. Then, when I got the iPhone 3G, I was still a bit unique because they were hard to get. It isn't that I am a gadget snob (ok – maybe I am), but I did like that unique factor in addition to the phone's features.
That is all about to change. Foxconn, the manufacturer of the iPhone 3G is reportedly cranking out over 800,000 of the little buggers a week. If you do the math, and carry the one, that equates to 40 million iPhones in a year. That production rate is staggering. So, my little iPhone will no longer be unique, but I wonder if it will still be good?
With such a staggering production run can Apple or Foxconn perform any type of quality control? Think about it, that is nearly 75 iPhones being produced a second. It is no wonder why this iPhone run has been a bit cracked around the edges. If my phone isn't going to be special, then I at least want it to last, and I am sure the other 40 million iPhone users in the world agree with me.
