Remote Start your Car…From the Other Side of the World

Gizmodo thinks Knight Rider, I think Batman, but the idea is the same: being able to start your car from anywhere is pretty cool, even if it's basically impractical for most of us – why would you want to be able to start your car from several miles away? Well, besides impressing your friends.
But, impractical or not, long-distance remote starting will soon be possible to do: sarah Dodge of Saratoga Springs High School (NY) is now the proud owner of a patent for a gadget that allows you to call your car and input a three digit code that starts the engine or unlocks the doors. The car even calls you back when the engine has successfully started. Since the technology is based on connections through cell networks, you could theoretically call your car from the other side of the world (assuming it gets reception). Now someone just needs to come up with a good robot driver to get the car to you once its started.
